Grizzly Bear - “Two Weeks”

The Grizzlies sitting in the front of an empty church, staring big-eyed
and smiling creepily at the camera while slowly being literally filled
with light. Very unsettling but the soothing Beach Boys-esque melody makes
it go down much easier. Directed by Patrick Daughters.

Their current tour stops in Montreal this week (June 4) Playing @ Le National.

Bat For Lashes - “Pearl’s Dream”

Natasha Khan fighting it out with her alter-ego Pearl (wearing a fetching
blond whig) in what looks like a big high school gym or a community theater
with a wolf by her side. It’s all very mystical and weird and that’s why
I’ve got much love for Miss Khan. Directed by Johan Renck.

Army Navy - “Saints”

A kid shoots this video diary (band member’s nephew) on the set of their
latest video. Hilarity and shenanigans ensues. If you haven’t had a chance
to listen to their self-titled debut album do yourself a favor, pick/download
yourself a copy. Best power pop debut in years and the perfect summer album.
Directed By Iain Kennedy.

Brakes - “Dont Take Me To Space (Man)”

Very simple and cheaply produced stop motion video done with pictures of
singer’s Eamon Hamilton noggin’ performing their very catchy first single
from their new album “Touchdown”. Directed by Lee Gingold and Rick Mereki.
