Elbow – “Neat Little Rows”
Directed by Mark Thomas.
Soundstage performance of the first single with a great, bouncy
piano line right in the chorus to make everything all shiny despite
the dark lyrics.
“Build A Rocket Boys!”, Elbow‘s 5th studio album and follow up to their
2008 Mercury Prize winning album “Seldom Seen Kid” will be out in the
UK March 7th on Polydor.
The Black Keys – “Howlin’ For You”
Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero.
A trailer to a Grindhouse movie I wish was coming soon to a theater
near me.
No one can beat this cast:
Tricia Helfer, Sean Patrick Flanery, Diora Baird, Shaun White, Corbin
Bernsen with Sir Todd Bridges and the BK boys as Mariachis.
Right now, The Black Keys are busy winning Grammy‘s (3 of ’em, 1 for
Best Alternative Music Album) and touring Europe.
My 3rd favorite LP of 2009 “Brothers” be in stores now.
The Kills – “Satellite”
Directed by Sophie Muller.
Dem cool mofos are back with the first single off their new album
“Blood Pressures” out April 5th on Domino Records.
They’ll hit the road starting with a few shows @ SXSW 2011, half a
dozen dates in Europe and then, the good ‘ol US of A and Canuckland.
They shall be in our neck of the woods April 30th @ L’Olympia. — > Tickets
Jenny And Johnny – “Big Wave”
Directed by Autumn De Wilde.
Awwwww … so gosh darn adorable.
They’ve got a few gigs scheduled for the West Coast this coming April
leading up to their Coachella appearance.
Their debut album “I’m Having Fun Now” is a great, overlooked gem from
last year.

I was already preparing a post to celebrate the release of this new opus
for tomorrow morning but sneaky Brits them Radiohead blokes are, they pulled
a fast one on us yet again and unleashed this (Nigel Godrich produced) monster
today.
Bonus:
We’re getting a music video for the first single “Lotus Flower”.
Radiohead – “Lotus Flower”
Directed by Garth Jennings.
Watch Thom Yorke bust out his sexiest, white boy moves on us.
It’s enthralling really.
Lowdown on how to get the album the legit way:
For North Americans, you go through HERE.
The “Newspaper” version (48$ W/MP3s ~ 53$ w/ WAVs) of the album includes:
* Two clear 10″ vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
* A compact disc.
* Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour
piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
* The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download that is compatible with
all good digital media players.
* One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased
from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12″ vinyl.
Digital Version (9$ MP3s ~ 14$ WAVs):
* MP3 version is a 320K constant bit rate file.
* WAV version is a full CD quality uncompressed digital audio file.
* One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased
from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12″ vinyl.
It will be released in stores by TBD Records in Canada/USA March 29th
and the day before in the UK through XL Recordings.
Please let there be a tour and please let this tour stop in Montreal and play
an indoor show.
How rad would that be.
FYI: The King Of Limbs takes its name from a millennial tree in Savernake Forest
in Wiltshire, England. It’s near Tottenham House, where part of 2007’s In Rainbows
was recorded.
So … Toughts? Comments? I’ll Tweet mine after my first listen this morning.

Videos: Biffy Clyro @ La Sala Rossa (02. 15. 2011)
Posted on | February 16, 2011 | No Comments

Official Website / Myspace / Twitter
Only took 9 years to get a headlining show out of Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro
and it finally happened last night @ La Sala Rossa.
Packed to the hilt, the place turned into a sweatbox right quick. No one was
immuned except for bassist James Johnston who (why I noticed this I do not know)
had not one drop of moisture on him. I fear he may be a cyborg.
At any rate, it was 90+ minutes of pure UK rock, the sweet sound of frontman and
lead singer Simon Neil‘s buzzsaw guitar mixed with the mad drumming skills of
Ben Johnston.
It was a pretty good mix of all 5 albums, mostly cuts from their 2009
Mercury Prize nominated album “Only Revolutions” and a few oldies
from “Blackened Sky” which is still to this day, my favorite album
of theirs.
The few videos I shot:
Biffy Clyro – “57”
Biffy Clyro – “Many Of Horror”
Biffy Clyro – “Whorses”
Their remaining North American tour dates:
Feb. 16 – Toronto, ON – Garrison
Feb. 18 – Columbus, OH – Basement
Feb. 19 – Chicago, IL – Double Door
Feb. 20 – Minneapolis, MN – 7th Street Entry
Feb. 24 – Portland, OR – Doug Fir
Feb. 25 – Vancouver, BC – Venue
Feb. 26 – Seattle, WA – The Crocodile Cafe
Feb. 28 – San Francisco, CA – Rickshaw Stop
Mar. 1 – Los Angeles, CA – Troubadour
