Tron: Legacy : Daft Punk “Derezzed” Music Video

Posted on | December 9, 2010 | No Comments

I’ve been waiting 2 years to see this and the IMAX 3-D preview I witnessed 6 weeks ago made me want to see it even more and now that we’re only 8 days away, gotta say I’m über psyched.

The Tron: Legacy soundtrack was released this week and Disney, in their infinite wisdom, released a music video for “Derezzed”, the most Daft Punk-esque track on the album.

Don’t fool yourself people, this is a classic film soundtrack with touches of Daft
Punk
thrown about. Don’t expect any bangers a la “One More Time” on there but as
instrumental soundtracks goes this is a gud one.

Arcade Fire – “The Suburbs”

Directed by Spike Jonze.

Video was pieced together from selected scenes out of the short film Spike and
Arcade Fire shot in Austin, Texas back in April.

Keep your peepers open for the blink or you’ll miss it cameo of Win and Regine as
shotgun wielding cops.

“The Suburbs” is out now on Merge Records.

Freelance Whales – “Generator ^ First Floor” (Live – NYC Subway Platform)

Directed by Loopyvids.

A very cool, stripped down performance on New York’s Bedford Avenue
(Brooklyn‘s hipster central) subway platform on March 2nd 2010.

Will be in town playing @ La Sala Rossa this Wednesday, December 8th.

Biffy Clyro – “Many Of Horror”

Directed by Andy Morahan.

Biffy Clyro will finally headline a tour in North America with a show scheduled
in our neck of the woods February 15th @ La Sala Rossa.

Montreal Ticket sales went online today.

Their latest, Mercury Prize nominated album “Only Revolutions” is out now.

Mt. Desolation – “State Of Our Affairs”

Directed by Joe Kane.

Mt. Desolation is the alt-country side project from Keane band members Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin.

Also joining in are members from Noah & The Whale, The Killers, The Long Winters, The Staves and Mumford & Sons.

Their self-titled debut is out now.

Rob Montejo – “So Much To Lose” (My Dad Is Dead cover)

Directed by Monika Bullette.

The Sky Drops‘s Rob Montejo doing an acoustic version (porch style) of “So Much To Lose”, a My Dad Is Dead song taken from their 1989 album “The Taller You Are, The Shorter You Get” in honor of frontman Mark Edwards‘s 50th birthday.

Shot 8 weeks ago in Cincinnati during Their Midwestern tour.

A new Sky Drops EP scheduled to be released next Spring.

Their latest and most excellent album “Bourgeois Beat” is out now.
