My Year-End Lists Of 2011
Posted on | December 29, 2011 | No Comments

It was an OK year.
Nothing more, nothing less.
Timber Timbre and their album “Creep On Creepin’ On” was without a doubt,
the album I’ve listened to and seen performed live the most all year.
Taylor Kirk‘s dark, swampy sound speaks to me.
As for the rest of my top 5, these albums will be listened by yours truly
for years to come.
The next 15, are pretty much interchangeable rank-wise. One I will like
better than the other on any given week.
2011 was the year of the EP. Soooooo many good ones came out, it was
pretty unbelievable. You got yourself quite a nice list to sample.
You will not be disappointed by any of these picks.
I actually have no clue what’s in the pipeline album-wise for 2012 and
I kinda like it like that. I’m hoping for a lot of nice surprises
that may one-up anything i’ve heard in the last 365 days.
Here’s hoping.

I waited 15 years to see Soundgarden in all their live,
Grungelicious glory and I tell you what, Chris Cornell and Co.
didn’t not disappoint one damn bit. I had musicgams left and
right from their 2 hour performance. Something I’ll remember for
the rest of my crummy little life.

Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest

“Drive” being the absolute best movie I saw (twice) this year and
“The Future“ being a big ol’ pile of artsy fartsy excrement i wish
i could scrub out of my brain forever.

Joyeux Noel! Atlas Sound Style
Posted on | December 25, 2011 | No Comments

As a tiny present from me to you, here’s a video I shot at the annual
Atlas Sound Christmas show @ The Bell House in Brooklyn last Saturday.
Probably one of the most dark Christmas song i’ve heard in awhile. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Mr. Bradford Cox.
Merry Non-Denominational Holiday of your choice y’all!

Trailer Thursdays: The Dark Knight Rises
Posted on | December 22, 2011 | No Comments

Cast : Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman
Director : Christopher Nolan
Release Date : July 20, 2012
Synopsis :
Eight years after the events of The Dark Knight, the terrorist leader Bane
arrives in Gotham City, pushing it and its police force to their limits,
forcing its former hero Batman to resurface after taking the fall for
Harvey Dent‘s crimes.
I mean do I really need to hype this up?
Of course not but this is my most anticipated film of 2012 without a doubt.
Christopher Nolan is back to close out the trilogy. This final chapter is
costing Warner Bros. 250 million smackaroos! That is an insane amount of
money which I’m sure we’ll see every dollars on the screen.
Some of it is being shot in the IMAX format again (thank Jebus not in 3D) and
it was filmed all over the world from India to Pittsburgh. How exotic.
All the main players are back with leftovers from last year’s “Inception” with
Tom Hardy, playing the main villain Bane, Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Anne Hathaway (an actress I am not very fond of) is taking over as Selina Kyle /
Catwoman, a role Michelle Pfeiffer embodied quite well in “Batman Returns” and
Halle Berry destroyed (as well as her career) in “Catwoman”.
July 2012, be here now please.
