Trailer Thursdays: Chronicle
Posted on | October 27, 2011 | No Comments

Cast : Alex Russell, Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, Ashley Hinshaw, Michael Kelly
Director : Joshua Trank
Release Date : February 3, 2012
Synopsis :
Three high school buddies gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery.
Has they become more comfortable with their new found powers, they find their lives
spinning out of control and their bond tested as they embrace their darker sides.
Haven’t done a Trailer Thursdays in awhile only because no trailers were worthy
of my precious time in writing about them.
Saw this trailer a few days back and I am totally on board with this concept.
It’s one of those found footage films a la “Cloverfield” or “Paranormal Activity” shot POV style.
It’s just 3 dudes getting superpowers (we don’t know how) who at first, are just goofing off with it, pranking people just for shits and giggles but then it’s used in a nefarious way with deadly results and it all turns to shit.
Definitely a new take on the “teen with powers” genre.
Directed by Joshua Tranks, a first time director for the big screen and Max Landis (son of John), Also, first time screenwriter.
It all looks very promising.

My 3rd CMJ Music Marathon was a blast.
More so things I did around it which is stuff like attend tapings of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report (so awesome!) meeting tons of new people (you know who you are *winkyface*) and the very few bands I was excited to see.
Not has much photo taking as previous years but I did shoot video footage of a few bands which hopefully you’ll enjoy.
This year’s CMJ discoveries includes:
New Zealand bands The Golden Awesome, Pikachunes and Popstrangers.
Also, The Lighthouse And The Whaler, Quiet Company and The John Steel Singers which will all make their way to an upcoming podcast.

CMJ Music Marathon 2011: My 15 Must-See Picks

As this post goes online, I am already sitting in a car (hopefully riding shotgun),
8 hours away from New York City. Oh the fun! me and my car buddies will have on
our way there.
There’s nothing like a good road trip to see some awesome bands, seeing the sights and eating some road food. Getting back though, it might be time to work off all that road grub and get healthy with some Medifast coupons. Staying in shape is an important part of being able to stay around and go to some fantastic venues and see great acts. The temptations are always out there and it’s great to indulge if at the other end you’re able to loose the road weight by eating right with Medifast and getting some exercise in.
All very diverse in their genres and all I would say, a guaranteed good time.
I would’ve extold the awesomeness of each and everyone of those picks if
given enough time to do so but instead, I’d rather let moving images tell it like it is.
Lemme know what you think and do share your own picks wih yours truly.
This gon’ be a crazy week y’all.
