My Year-End Lists Of 2012

Posted on December 29, 2012 |

2012 left me a bit blah.

I’ll always find at least 5 great albums in any year that trips me out and will
be listened to for years to come.

The top 10 i’ve listed here to me I feel they’ve hit it right out of the park.

You may have noticed that i haven’t blogged much about new music in the
last 6 months. I think this was the year where I hit a wall and nothing
really spoke to me has much as year’s past. I mostly dug back into my
collection
and listened to podcasts.

Don’t know if it’s old age finally kicking in and feeling blasé about it
all or the music scene right now hasn’t inspired me to perk up my ears
but I’m really hoping 2013 can reel me back in.

Top 3 Shows Of 2012:

For the first time in 15 years, I saw less than 10 live shows in a
calendar year.

It was 8 times that number 10 years ago.

Alot of money was saved by staying home but to be honest, I’ve seen
so many live shows
in my day that burning out on the majesty that is
rock n’ roll in cramped venues was inevitable.

Of those shows I saw, Shabazz Palaces @ Il Motore back in April and
in a Brooklyn park last July were the best times I’ve had.

Seeing Radiohead @ Bell Centre back in June was a close second.

My Fav Films Of 2012:

God Bless America
The Dark Knight Rises
Celeste And Jesse Forever
Looper
Dredd 3D
Django Unchained

Nothing wowed me this year, The Dark Knight Rises was a bit of a
disappointment but still made my list.

As a Grindhouse movie lover, Django Unchained tickled me just right
and was the funnest time I’ve had at the movies in 2012.

Looper and Dredd 3D were pretty dope too.
