Amongst the many songstresses of her ilk outthere (Bjork, St. Vincent, Bat For
Lashes
), I’ve always had a soft spot for Shara Worden a.k.a. My Brightest Diamond.

Since her last album, 2008’s “A Thousand Shark’s Teeth”, she shared her vocals on last year’s “Penelope”, a beautiful chamber pop record from music composed by Sarah Kirkland Snider, with lyrics by playwright Ellen McLaughlin based on the faithful wife from Homer’s Odyssey.

Earlier this year, she collaborated with her friends Clare Muldaur Manchon
(of Clare And The Reasons) and Rob Moose on an multi-media project/album titled
“Letters To Distant Cities”, an album based on Poetry by Mustafa Ziyalan recited by Shara and music written and performed by Mr. Moose.

She also had time to spawned new life, a baby boy into this crazy, mixed-up world.

Way to multitask.

On October 18th (10th in the UK), her third album “All Things Will Unwind” will
see the light of day.

These new batch of songs were created earlier this year while she took part of the
“American Songbook series” at Lincoln Center.

She composed music specifically for chamber ensemble yMusic, who’ve toured and recorded with such diverse artists like Bjork, Bon Iver, Antony & The Johnsons, Peter Gabriel, Grizzly Bear and Rufus Wainwright. Pretty insane group of people.

3 rules were set:

1. Every sound would be created acoustically.

2. She would play as infrequently as possible.

3. If she did play, the instrument must fit in a suitcase.

Always trying to keep it experimental that Shara. You can hear the result of said
experiment in the first single “Reaching Through To The Other Side”:
