Soundgarden Summer Tour + New Album News

Posted on July 4, 2011 |

I’ve been waiting 15 years for this.

I had every intentions in seeing Soundgarden on the Quebec stop of the 1996
Lollapalooza tour
but sadly it was not to be. Thinking I would’ve had
a chance to see them on their own tour a few months later not knowing
they would disband in early 1997.

But it sure as hell don’t matter now cause they are back this Summer
on a massive North American tour.

They’ve already played their first show 2 days ago in Toronto and
they managed to cram in 29 songs in a 2 hour set, spanning their entire
recording career. Check out the Knights Of The Soundtable Message Board
for the setlist + pictures and videos.

I am BEYOND PSYCHED for tomorrow’s show @ the Ottawa Bluesfest.

Shame that I can’t experience one of my all-time favorite band in my
hometown of Montreal but a 2 hour drive ain’t that bad to get my Grunge
on.

“We’re going to record a couple more songs in August when we get back from tour
and then hopefully we can mix it up and put it out”
.

Adam Kasper his back behind the boards producing. He last worked with the band on 1996’s “Down On The Upside”.

According to guitarist Kim Thayil, who gave a progress report to Stereogum about the new album, they have 14 songs in various stages of completion.

They’re shooting for a 2012 release.
