2011 Rock The Bells Festival Series ( Lineup Announced )

The supreme Hip Hop Summer music festival is back for another fun-filled edition.

This year’s hook?

Have your old school headliners play their classic album in their entirety.

The list:

Nas (w/ special guests AZ, Pete Rock and DJ Premier) - “Illmatic” (1994)
Lauryn Hill - “The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill” (1998)
Cypress Hill - “Black Sunday” (1993)
Black Star (Mos Def & Talib Kweli) - “Black Star” (2002)
Raekwon & Ghostface - “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx” (1995)
Genius / GZA - “Liquid Swords” (1995)

The remaining Hip Hoppers filling out the bill:

Erykah Badu, Curren$y, Mac Miller, Big K.R.I.T., Blu, Exile, Fashawn,
Evidence, Macklemore, Freddie Gibbs, Roc Marciano, Immortal Technique,
Slaughterhouse, Random Axe, Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Community’s Donald Glover).

More will be added to this already impressive lineup.

The hosts on hand for these shindings will be The RZA, Murs 3:16 and Supernatural.

Sadly, the tour was cut down to only 4 major U.S. cities which means no crossing of
the Canuck border this year.

Sep. 03 - Governor’s Island ( New York, NY )
Sep. 10 - TBA ( Boston, MA )

Tickets goes on sale this Saturday, June 4th @ 10am.
